JOB SUMMARY:
Outreach Specialist Must be a local resident of the community in which they will be working and must know the surrounding areas and location. The Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for identifying potential clients for the Union Medical Care Center . Inform the local public about all services and programs available. Under the direction of the supervisor, maintains an aggressive outreach effort by meeting clients in the field rather than in traditional settings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs outreach in the community at such places as homes through door-to-door interaction, schools, churches, agency sites and at various health fairs.
- Develop and implement effective outreach strategies
- Follow up with clients through phone, mail, and door to door.
- Monitor, document and report on the effectiveness of outreach strategies on clients and activities.
- Participate in community meetings and events to represent the organization
- Post informational posters, flyers and brochures at local stores, community centers, schools and churches.
- Maintain knowledge of programs, community resources and services available to clients/patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
The Director of Development will perform annual evaluations using the Performance Evaluation CDB Form No. 1006c (Rev. 2/94) wherein a satisfactory overall rating is considered a minimally acceptable level of performance.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience working in community outreach, customer relations and/or community-based programs. Previous experience working and communicating with people on a one-to-one basis.
Other: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Must have dependable transportation, Texas Driver’s license and auto liability insurance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position.
Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
Must be able to deliver excellent customer service, externally and internally
