Job Description

Overhaul Business Manager – Turkish Technic International Attachment, Turkey

Full-Time

*Please note this role will be based in Istanbul Turkey, relocation to Turkey will be required*

Within Aftermarket Overhaul Operations, you will be based on site at the joint venture MRO facility in Turkey and operate as an integral member of the regional overhaul team. You will lead the Rolls-Royce Overhaul Support Team and represent regional operational priorities at the base.

Why join Rolls-Royce?

At Rolls-Royce we are proud to be a business that has truly helped to shape the modern world and are committed to always being a force for progress; powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere.

By joining Rolls-Royce, you'll have the opportunity to work on world-class solutions, supported by a culture that believes individuality is our greatest strength, and all perspectives, experiences and backgrounds help us innovate and enable our high-performance culture.

About the Role:

Keeping our customers flying depends on safe, high-quality and predictable overhaul delivery. TotalCare Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) shop visits are a leading source of revenue and profit for Civil Aerospace, making MRO delivery, turnaround time and cost performance critical business priorities.

Turkish Technic will be the latest member of our MRO network to become operational by the end of 2027. The brand new facility at Istanbul Grand Airport, will enable Turkish Technic to deliver overhaul services for the Trent XWB-97 (lead engine), as well as Trent 7000 and Trent XWB-84 in future years. It will provide services to our TotalCare customers as well at the Turkish Airlines fleet, and has a planned capacity of 200 Shop Visits a year at peak. With an aggressive ramp up planned in early years, knowledge transfer and strong integration with Rolls-Royce will be key to set the base up for success.

What you will be doing:

You will govern Rolls-Royce engine shop visits under TotalCare agreements across the full MRO gated process, driving safety, quality, delivery, cost and commercial performance through the Operating Management System. You will own the Rolls-Royce operational plan and forecast for the base, lead the support team and coordinate action across the MRO partner and Rolls-Royce enabling functions. Success means credible commitments, early visibility of risk and effective resolution of constraints. Working within agreed contractual and decision-making authorities, you will distinguish clearly between actions you own, outcomes you influence and decisions requiring regional escalation, building relationships grounded in Rolls-Royce values and behaviours.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive base performance and the contribution of Rolls-Royce enabling functions through the Operating Management System, using common measures, clear action ownership and disciplined follow-through to deliver sustained improvement.
  • Establish a Safety First culture within the Overhaul Support Team and influence the same across the MRO base, encouraging timely reporting, speaking up and effective resolution of safety and quality concerns.
  • Translate the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) plan into base-level delivery and readiness requirements, understanding the implications of product mix, workscope and volume for capacity, people, tooling, material and repair capability.
  • Own the credibility, maintenance and execution governance of the Rolls-Royce operational plan and forecast for the base. Keep the executive ERP system accurate and current so Airline Support Teams and customers receive reliable commitments. Identify delivery risks early and drive recovery plans with clear owners, milestones, contingencies and explicit requests for regional support or decisions.
  • Lead turnaround-time (TRT) improvement by workscope and drive end-to-end shop flow through active oversight of work in progress (WIP), ageing engines and gate progression. Coordinate resolution of material shortages, repair-readiness and kitting constraints across the MRO base and Rolls-Royce enterprise.
  • Coordinate the base’s operational readiness for agreed capability and capacity developments, including retained repair development. Govern readiness milestones for people, tooling, material and repairs, working with programme owners to resolve gaps and escalate risks to delivery.
  • Drive shop-visit cost control, compliance with the DOA approval process and consumption of Serviceable Used Material. Understand and challenge cost variances and recurring cost drivers, coordinating corrective action to reduce avoidable expenditure without compromising safety or quality.
  • Work with Procurement to understand contractual obligations, govern operational delivery against agreed commitments and provide evidence-based inputs to commercial matters, remaining within delegated authority.
  • Work closely with Airline Support Teams to align shop-visit priorities, communicate forecast changes and recovery actions promptly, and improve the customer experience through dependable delivery and clear information.
  • Support timely closure of in-shop quality investigations, coordinating the required technical and quality inputs and following through on corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Build effective relationships at senior management and working levels across the MRO base, combining constructive challenge with clear accountability and timely escalation of unresolved issues.
  • Provide powerplant technical and quality-assurance support to the shop, drawing on the appropriate Rolls-Royce specialists and ensuring issues reach the accountable decision-makers.
  • Lead and develop the Overhaul Support Team across on-site and remote colleagues, setting priorities, clarifying responsibilities, coaching and building capability and succession to meet current and future base needs.
  • Contribute to regional and network priorities through common standards, shared learning and cross-base improvement. Make dependencies and competing priorities visible, working with regional leadership to resolve trade-offs rather than optimising the base in isolation.
  • Maintain active operational risk and business-continuity oversight for the Rolls-Royce interface with the base. Coordinate disruption response and recovery with the MRO partner and regional team, ensuring realistic milestones, contingencies and clear escalation routes.

  • Proven ability to turn operational data into credible forecasts, identify constraints and emerging risks, and deliver recovery and improvement plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing on-site and remote teams, and influencing MRO partners and cross-functional stakeholders without relying on direct authority.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, including cost-driver analysis, contractual awareness and sound judgement on ownership, delegated authority and escalation.
  • Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate concise, evidence-based updates, challenge constructively and make risks, decisions and support needs clear to senior stakeholders.
