Overhead Crane Operator

Description

Safely operate overhead cranes to lift, position, and move materials throughout the production floor while maintaining compliance with all company safety policies and operational procedures.

Essential Functions

• •Safely operate overhead cranes within the fabrication shop and production areas.
• •Perform pre-operational inspections of cranes to ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely.
• •Inspect chains, slings, hooks, and all rigging attachments prior to use.
• •Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate crane movements and maintain a safe work environment.
• •Understand and adhere to crane load limits, weight capacities, and proper rigging practices.
• •Follow all Red Dot safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company guidelines.
• •Maintain current knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• •Participate in all required safety meetings and training programs provided by Red Dot.
• •Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, incidents, and near misses to the supervisor immediately.
• •Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards that could impact safety or productivity.
• •Assist with the movement and staging of materials to support fabrication and production schedules.
• •Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Training Requirements
• To perform this role successfully, employees must:

• •Complete the required crane safety training video.
• •Read and sign the Crane Operator Job Description.
• •Demonstrate safe crane operation to the East Side Supervisor.
• •Demonstrate the ability to safely operate all assigned equipment.
• •Comply with all requirements outlined in Red Dot's Safety Manual.

Non-Essential Functions

• •Support safety initiatives and productivity improvement projects within the fabrication shop.
• •Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
