This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in 114 W Edenton St - Wake County. This position is assigned to the Department of Justice.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $27.70 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Management Preferences/Job Duties:

  • This position provides litigation support to staff attorneys in the Workers’ Compensation Section.
  • Litigation support includes preparation of trial exhibits, subpoenas, coordination of evidence and witnesses, etc .
  • This position will contact witnesses and prepare them for potential trial testimony.
  • This includes but is not limited to drafting numerous types of legal documents, including discovery as well as responding to discovery requests.

Minimum Education and Experience

Graduation from an appropriately accredited institution for paralegal training and two years of experience as a paralegal; or Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of substantive paralegal experience; or High school or General Education Development (GED) diploma and six years of paralegal experience performing delegated, substantive legal work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
