Description

Verge Therapy is a nationally recognized, clinician-owned practice, led by award-winning leadership and represented within the Forbes Business Council for its measurable impact on client outcomes and its commitment to building sustainable, high-performing clinical teams. Every decision about pay, schedule, and workload is made by someone who's sat in the chair, which is why you're paid for your paperwork. 12 minutes of paid admin time for every clinical hour, built into your rate, not a stipend or something you catch up on at 9pm for free. It's also why 82% of the clinicians we hired in 2025 are still with us, up from 61% in 2023.

  • Position Summary
  • We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and client-centered EMDR Therapist to join our inclusive team. This is a part-time, fee-for-service position with opportunities for bonuses, reporting to the Clinical Director. In this role, you will provide affirming, trauma-focused, evidence-based care using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. You will be supported by a values-driven practice that celebrates diversity and believes that when therapists are truly supported, they and their clients flourish. Part-time is 48 billable hours per month (~12/week), measured monthly, not weekly. A month absorbs the ordinary rhythm of clinical work: a heavy week, a school vacation, a run of cancellations.

Compensation & Benefits That Stand Out

  • Competitive pay based on experience: $54–59/hour (Pre-Licensed)
  • Competitive pay based on experience: $64–69/hour (Independently Licensed)
  • Guaranteed pay model: clinicians are paid biweekly regardless of client or insurance payout
  • Paid sick time
  • Bonus opportunities available
  • Paid administrative time
  • Free individual and group supervision and risk consultation support
  • CEU reimbursement and a stipend to cover exam fees
  • Liability and malpractice insurance
  • Paid orientation
  • What Verge Handles for You
  • So you can focus on clients, we take care of:
  • EMDR tools and supplies
  • Billing and claims
  • Marketing, advertising, and building your personal brand
  • Insurance credentialing
  • Referrals to build your trauma-focused caseload
  • An EMR and office space
  • Scheduling

Flexible scheduling options are available to meet client needs. Some afternoon and evening availability is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide client-centered, culturally responsive EMDR therapy
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including trauma history, symptom severity, and dissociation screening, to determine readiness for EMDR and create individualized treatment plans
  • Build stabilization and resourcing skills with clients before trauma processing, and pace treatment to each client's window of tolerance
  • Integrate EMDR with complementary evidence-based approaches as clinically indicated (e.g., CBT, IFS, somatic or attachment-focused interventions)
  • Recognize and respond to dissociation, abreaction, and emotional flooding during and between sessions, prioritizing safety and stabilization
  • Respond to crises (e.g., safety concerns, disclosures, suicidal ideation) with empathy and sound clinical judgment
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation, including target sequencing, SUD/VOC tracking, and treatment progress
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other members of a client's care team to ensure coordinated treatment
  • Participate in individual supervision, EMDR case consultation, and team collaboration
  • Stay current with EMDR best practices, EMDRIA standards, continuing education, and regulatory requirements
  • Connect clients with resources and referrals that support their treatment goals

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Licensure in Massachusetts (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) or license eligible
  • Completion of EMDRIA-approved EMDR Basic Training
  • Experience providing trauma-focused therapy with a strong foundation in evidence-based, trauma-informed care
  • Proficiency with an EHR and clinical documentation

Preferred:

  • EMDRIA Certification, or progress toward it
  • Advanced EMDR training (e.g., complex trauma, dissociation, attachment-focused EMDR, EMDR with adolescents)
  • Experience treating PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, grief, and related presenting concerns
  • Training in complementary modalities such as IFS, somatic approaches, or DBT
