Job Description
This is a part-time, temporary/ seasonal position. The work site is the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teach assigned courses and be available to students during the contract period.
Prepare course syllabi, course outlines (if necessary ) and related instructional materials.
Maintain student records, including attendance and grades.
Administer student evaluations.
Participate in orientation and faculty meetings as requested.
Complete all required NDOC paperwork and training as necessary.
Participate in student retention activities as requested.
Promote college educational programs and services to the communities served by WNC .
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in Automotive Technology or professionally related area. O r a combination of education and professional experience.
One year of mechanic experience in automotive or related field.
Ability to pass the Nevada Department of Corrections background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Automotive Service Excellence professional level certifications or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Experience teaching in a community college setting.
Experience working in a carceral setting.
Ability to work with diverse student populations, including those who are incarcerated.
