Part-Time Lecturer for DT1102 Gameplay

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as Part-time Lecturer for DT1102 Gameplay. The Part-time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate course commencing in January 2027.

This foundation course introduces first-year students to the fundamentals of gameplay through paper prototyping. Students design and build physical, paper-based games to explore and test game mechanics, learning how rules, engagement loops, feedback systems and reward structures work together to create compelling play experiences. Through iterative prototyping, playtesting and peer and instructor feedback, students refine their designs and develop a solid understanding of what makes games work, laying the groundwork for digital game development in later courses.

Candidates should have at least a Masters and/or PhD in Game Design or a related field, with a track record of production and creative practice in game design, including analogue or tabletop game design. Any past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Game Design and sufficient and relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
