Part-time: Park Ranger

Our Company : North Carolina FC Youth (NCFC Youth) is a non-profit youth soccer organization home to more than 16,000 players (ages 2.5-19) and their families each year. Through full-service programming, NCFC Youth offers youth soccer for all levels of play – from Recreation and outreach programs up to the highest levels of elite competition. In addition, NCFC Youth hosts tournaments, camps, and other events to ensure the best player development opportunities.

NCFC Youth’s on and off field operations are supported by more than 1,700 personnel including full-time staff, seasonal coaches, and volunteer coaches. In collaboration with the professional North Carolina Football Club, home to NC Courage (NWSL) and North Carolina FC (USL Championship), NCFC Youth is the largest youth-to-professional club in the country and offers a pipeline of player development including U-23s, amateur & academy contracts, and professional contracts in addition to coaching development opportunities.

The Position: The Park Ranger contributes to maintaining the safety of WRAL Soccer Park as well as game/practice operations.

Essential Functions:

Serve as a front-line ambassador for members, guests and staff while providing a safe environment

Remain in constant communication with Athletic Fields Superintendent

Patrol park for safety concerns/issues

Patrol park to keep the public off fields

Clean up litter and empty trash/recycle cans

Open/close the park

Assist with practice and game day operations

Help perform light maintenance on soccer equipment (goals, fields, flags, etc.)

Qualifications/Competencies:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Some experience in the use of power tools, machines, and heavy equipment

Able to adhere to OSHA safety requirements and standards

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Frequent contact with local citizens and other employees within the department, requiring tact and judgment

Detail-oriented

Must maintain professionalism in all manners while remaining flexible, yet dependable

Job Type Requirements:

Part time; hours vary based on programming. There are two openings in this position; 1 position for early morning weekday shifts, and 1 for early afternoon to close shifts Saturday and Sunday.

Work Environment/Travel/Physical Demands:

Job entails regular exposure to cold, heat, dust, fumes, and noise

Frequent lifting of up to 40-50 lbs; frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and standing

Operates various types of light equipment (i.e. JD Gators, Golf Carts, etc.)

Background Requirements

Requires a background check upon offer, along with continued annual background checks.
