Part-Time/PRN Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Overnight

Hickman County, TN | 8:00p - 8:00a (hours will vary, must be flexible)

Progressive Directions, Inc. (PDI) is hiring a dependable and compassionate Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM overnight shift in Hickman County. This position requires flexibility. While the primary shift is between the hours of 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM, applicants must be willing to be flexible with scheduling when needed, including weekends, holidays, and occasional additional coverage.

This is an awake overnight position. The DSP must remain alert and available throughout the entire shift to provide support and respond to the needs of the individuals in the home. Reliable attendance is essential. The people we support depend on their DSPs being present and ready to work their scheduled shifts.

What You'll Do

As an Overnight DSP, you'll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while helping maintain a safe and supportive home environment throughout the night.

Responsibilities may include:

• •Providing supervision and support throughout the overnight shift
• •Assisting with toileting, personal hygiene, and other personal care needs
• •Responding to individual needs during the night
• •Administering medications according to agency policy and training
• •Following Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
• •Completing required overnight documentation and medication records
• •Completing assigned household responsibilities
• •Assisting individuals with their nighttime and morning routines
• •Preparing individuals for their day as needed
• •Communicating changes or concerns to supervisors and incoming staff
• •Maintaining a safe, clean, respectful, and supportive environment

What We're Looking For

Overnight DSPs must be dependable, attentive, patient, flexible, and comfortable working independently.

Requirements

• •Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred, but not required
• •PHS and Therap experience is a plus
• •High school diploma or GED preferred
• •Valid unrestricted driver's license
• •Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• •Ability to safely transport persons supported as required
• •Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
• •Effective written communication and documentation skills
• •Satisfactory criminal background and required registry checks
• •Negative pre-employment drug screen
• •Ability to successfully complete all required training
• •Must be dependable and report to scheduled shifts on time
• •Must have flexibility to assist with staffing needs when necessary
