Patient Care Technician - Clinical Decision Unit

  • The Patient Care Technician functions within the areas of Nurses stations and patient areas as assigned. This
  • individual performs phlebotomy, patient transportation, direct para-professional nursing care to Nursing Units and
  • Emergency Department patients, as well as various registration and clerical duties. This individual is responsible
  • and accountable to an assigned group of newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • - Current certification in BLS within 7 days of hire.
  • - Ability to communicate effectively and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • - Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • - Basic computer skills or ability to learn and use hospital computer.
  • - Effective communication skills with unit staff and other departments.
  • - Must complete orientation requirements: general hospital orientation and unit-specific orientation.
