• •Contacts key personnel after hours as needed.
• •Maintains an operational call log of all activities, requests, and issues.
• •Cultivates accurate knowledge of hospital disaster codes and announces them efficiently according to procedure.
• •Projects a positive and helpful demeanor while working with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
• •Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Other duties as assigned.
• •Maintains a courteous and professional manner when answering calls. Demonstrates skill and proficiency when executing overhead announcements. Forwards calls promptly to proper departments, patient rooms, or staff as necessary.
• •Understands and responds to all codes and alarm systems.
• •Updates and maintains all on call lists for staff when notified of changes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• •Basic understanding of numerous computer systems. [Required]
• •Must be proficient in the English language. [Required]
• •Ability to communicate effectively. [Required]
• •Customer service skills required.
• •Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
• •Ability to work with attention to detail in reading, writing, and computer tasks required.
• •Organizational and interpersonal skills required.
• •Ability to answer calls promptly, courteously, and accurately required.
• •Knowledge of basic insurance concepts preferred.
• •Bi-lingual abilities preferred.
• •Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions required.
• •Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays required.
• •Ability and willingness to adapt to change required.
• •Clear and precise speaking abilities required.

Education:

High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

1+ experience in switchboard operations. [Required]

Pay Range:

$19.19 - $28.78
