PRIMARY PURPOSE:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pediatric Dentist (Pedodontist) with at least three (3) years of clinical experience to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pediatric dentistry and a strong commitment to improving oral health outcomes for children in our community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide comprehensive dental care for pediatric patients, including preventive, restorative, and emergency treatments.
  • Educate patients and families on oral health, hygiene, and preventive care.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
  • Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and peer reviews.
  • Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HRSA and UDS reporting requirements.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and oral health education initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in the English language, with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact and work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to review, understand and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to educate patients on oral health, hygiene, and preventative care.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in the performance of job duties.
  • Full range of body motion required. Position requires reaching, bending, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and sight.
  • Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases.
  • Ability to utilize standard precautions to prevent transmission of diseases acquired by contact with blood, bodily fluids, non-intact skin, and mucous membranes.
  • Accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, e.g. pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboard, telephone, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds or less.
  • Ability to travel to other FoundCare locations and perform job duties.
  • Ability to travel to other locations to attend meetings, workshops, and seminars, plus travel to other FoundCare departments and FoundCare conference rooms.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of a recognized pediatric dentistry residency program is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in pediatric dentistry.
  • Current state dental license and DEA registration.
  • Active Florida Medicaid provider enrollment preferred; candidates not currently enrolled must be eligible to enroll.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
