Job Description:
Job Family Definition
Students or recent graduates from an accredited college or university who are pursuing a degree in business, human resources, technology enablement, HR systems, data analytics, process improvement, or a related field. The internship provides hands-on experience supporting HR process discovery, simplification, standardization, and readiness for AI and automation across Corporate Functions HR and People Care.
Responsibilities
- Support process discovery by preparing materials, documenting workshop discussions, and helping map current-state and future-state HR workflows.
- Analyze process data, customer pain points, handoffs, rework, cycle times, recurring exceptions, and workflow variants under the guidance of senior team members.
- Help identify opportunities to simplify steps, reduce unnecessary approvals, standardize repeatable activities, and improve the employee and HR user experience.
- Assist in documenting business requirements, decision points, process rules, escalation triggers, data dependencies, and appropriate AI-to-human handoffs.
- Contribute to AI and automation readiness assessments by researching use cases, organizing evidence, and preparing clear summaries for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with process owners, HR Operations, People Care, HRBPs, HRIS, product teams, and subject matter experts on assigned transformation activities.
- Support the development of user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, operational readiness materials, and project status updates.
- Maintain accurate process documentation, action logs, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and ownership records.
- Participate in team meetings, working sessions, and periodic reviews; share progress and incorporate feedback in a timely manner.
- Assist with measuring outcomes such as cycle-time reduction, fewer handoffs, lower rework, improved consistency, and capacity released.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, human resources, information systems, data analytics, operations, or a related field.
- Completion of coursework or academic projects involving process analysis, research, data interpretation, project management, technology, or continuous improvement is preferred.
- No prior professional experience is required; previous internships, student organizations, research projects, or campus leadership experience are a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to translate information into clear process maps, summaries, requirements, and presentations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and cultures.
- Curiosity about AI, automation, HR technology, process improvement, and responsible use of data.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools; exposure to process-mapping, analytics, project-management, or collaboration tools is a plus.
- A collaborative, solution-focused mindset and willingness to learn, ask questions, and challenge complexity constructively.
Impact & Scope
- Works on defined assignments with guidance from an AI Process Analyst, project lead, or supervisor.
- Contributes analysis and documentation that help prepare HR processes for responsible AI, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Builds practical experience in cross-functional collaboration, process design, business analysis, and transformation delivery.
- May work full time during school breaks or part time during the academic year, subject to local program requirements.
Success Measures
- Quality and accuracy of assigned process maps, analyses, requirements, and project documentation.
- Timely completion of deliverables and effective incorporation of stakeholder feedback.
- Useful identification of process pain points, simplification opportunities, and AI or automation use cases.
- Demonstrated growth in process analysis, collaboration, communication, and business problem-solving skills.
