As a vital member of the Pharmacy Team, the Pharmacy Technician assists and supports the Pharmacists by helping to provide accurate, efficient, timely, and personalized pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Required Qualifications:

• •Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent
• •Must complete CPhT within one (1) year of hire if not already certified
• •Must complete the SJRMC structured on-the-job didactic and experiential IV compounding training with competency evaluation through demonstration and testing within one (1) year
• •Must register with the New Mexico State Board of Pharmacy within ten (10) days of date of hire if not already registered

Preferred Qualifications:

• •CPhT certification
• •Experience in Sterile Preparations Compounding
• •Hospital pharmacy experience
• •Good math skills
• •Good computer skills
• •Good customer service skills
• •Cooperative

Duties and Responsibilities:

• •Drug distribution
• •Sterile preparations compounding
• •Order entry
• •Charging
• •Filling employee prescriptions
• •Clerical functions
• •Assists pharmacists and other colleagues
• •Department liaison/ambassador
• •Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:

Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship

Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

• •Subject to hazardous drug exposure (i.e., antineoplastics, antibiotics, anesthetic vapors)
• •Subject to lifting twenty-five (25) pounds
• •Standing or walking for most of shift
