Job Description

• The Physical Therapist Assistant II reports to the Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant II provides optimal patient care by implementing a physical therapy program to individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental and patient/family directed approach. Under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist I, II, or III , functions as a staff physical therapist assistant. Supervises PTA students and provides clinical education experiences.
• Patient populations served: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric for a variety of diagnosis to include but not limited to: neurologic, orthopedic, post-surgical, pediatric, medically complex, inpatient or outpatient throughout the hospital system.

Education: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program, less than one year experience as a physical therapy assistant.

Licensure:

• •Physical Therapy Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• •Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (
• •BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
