Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar.

ROLE of the POSITION

The postdoctoral scholar is the research engine of the National Educator Apprenticeship Consortium, a Congressionally funded effort to build shared public infrastructure for registered educator apprenticeship across eight states housed in the National Institute for the Advancement of Education (NIAE) in UNLV’s College of Education. The scholar designs and conducts studies across all three goal areas, assembles and analyzes cross-state data, leads preparation of the annual Impact Report, and converts consortium activity into peer-reviewed manuscripts, policy briefs, and conference presentations. The work carries unusual reach. The scholar engages at monthly convenings and state site visits, contributes to the goals of the project, and joins the culminating Washington, DC engagement. For someone building a research identity in educator workforce policy, this is early access to data that does not yet exist anywhere and co-authorship on resources distributed nationally.

Thus, the successful candidate will demonstrate support for educational access and community engagement, as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment. UNLV seeks to recruit and retain a racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse workforce as a reflection of our commitment to serving the community.
