The Prep Cook / Commissary Associate II will directly contribute to the overall success of TooJay’s food service operation by preparing scratch made items for each of our restaurants throughout Florida and our virtual brands. To provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service while performing all duties. To perform these duties in such a manner as to create a clean, safe working environment according to Covid – 19 regulations and standards for yourself, co-workers and ultimately TooJay’s guests.

Responsibilities may vary based on daily priorities and may include:

Follow recipes, preparation specifications, quality standards, and food-safety procedures.

Wash, peel, cut, and prepare food using knives safely and efficiently.

Prepare soups in 200–300-gallon kettles, including safely handling products above 200°F.

Produce high-volume batches of matzo balls and other commissary products.

Assist with dishwashing, equipment cleaning, end-of-shift duties, and other tasks as assigned.

Load products and supplies onto trucks, including working in refrigerated coolers.

Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work safely and efficiently around hot liquids, steam, heavy equipment, and cold temperatures.

Wear the required uniform and personal protective equipment and maintain high personal-grooming standards.

Follow company, health department, safety, and food-handling regulations.

Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor.

Know the location and proper access procedures for fire extinguishers.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Basic knowledge of kitchen and food-service operations.

Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Positive attitude, willingness to learn, teamwork, and punctuality.

Clear communication and active-listening skills.

Ability to remain composed and objective under pressure.

Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures.

Willingness to work with cleaning and sanitizing equipment and solutions.

Ability to stand for the entire shift.

Ability to frequently or continuously lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
