Prep Cook - Part Time - Port St. Lucie, FL

We are currently hiring for a Prep Cook who will be responsible for food preparation associated with ala carte and banquet services. In addition, the Prep Cook is responsible for the preparation of outside services’ products as well as washing and sanitizing pots, dishes, utensils, carts by either mechanical washing or hand washing; stacking plates; and sorting and polishing silver as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain extreme sanitary conditions by thoroughly cleaning work areas on a daily basis.

Prepare food products to specification/recipe, ensuring accuracy and freshness for ala carte or banquet production.

Help in the preparation and production of banquet events.

Assist the line in stocking and finishing of products.

Receive, stock, store, and transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.

Clean all kitchen areas to include stainless and surface tops and shelves including walls in kitchen areas.

Clean equipment and floors and assist in dishwashing as needed.

Remove trash and garbage and places into designated receptacles. Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.

Attend in-service training and educational seminars as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.

COLLABORATION AND TEAMWORK

Work harmoniously with others to get a job done, respond positively to instructions and procedures and is able to work well with staff while maintaining relationships, which breed productive disagreement and debate.
