About the team

The Principal, Product Management drives the vision, strategy, and execution of complex, high-impact product initiatives that shape Zillow’s customer experience and competitive position. Operating as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, this role leads cross-functional teams to define and deliver innovative solutions, balancing customer insights, technical feasibility, and business outcomes at enterprise scale.

About the role

  • - Define and lead a cohesive product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for a critical product area, ensuring alignment with Zillow’s overall business objectives and market opportunities.
  • - Drive end-to-end product lifecycle execution—from discovery and requirements through launch and optimization—using data, experimentation, and customer insights to inform prioritization and trade-offs.
  • - Lead and influence cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, design, data science, marketing, operations) to deliver scalable, high-quality product experiences that improve customer engagement and business performance.
  • - Evaluate and refine product performance using quantitative and qualitative inputs, defining success metrics and using insights to iterate on features, user journeys, and platform capabilities.
  • - Represent the product strategy with senior leaders and key stakeholders, communicating clear narratives, building consensus on priorities, and surfacing risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $182,100.00 - $290,900.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

Who you are

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • - 10+ years of experience in product management for technology products, including substantial experience leading complex, consumer or platform products at scale.
  • - Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact products or platforms, using data to shape strategy, prioritize trade-offs, and iterate after launch.
  • - Proven track record of driving organization-level product strategies, influencing senior stakeholders, and mentoring other product managers or cross-functional partners.
  • - Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
