Job Description:

The Role

Do you want to be part of a Product Area that helps develop best-in-class Compliance capabilities that support every asset class in Fidelity Asset Management? As a Principal Systems Analyst and member of a Compliance Technology Team, you will combine a passion for technology and business analysis with a talent for delivering high‑quality solutions that drive meaningful value for Asset Management Compliance and its partner trading and portfolio management stakeholders. In this role, you will work closely with the Compliance business and operations teams to understand their needs and challenges and with your technology teammates to deliver innovative, high quality, and timely solutions. You’ll ensure the solutions you help deliver meet stakeholder acceptance criteria and quality standards and that they align with the tactical and strategic goals of the product and organization. This role also entails collaborating with others across the Asset Management business, technology partners, and potentially external organizations in gathering requirements and designing and delivering technology capabilities that support Compliance.

  • Define the 'why' behind an enhancement or new feature request and gather requirements and define acceptance criteria needed to deliver that new feature or enhancement.
  • Work with the product manager to help lead and coordinate the definition and estimation of actionable epics and stories that align deliverables.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, data flows, and process diagrams
  • Drive scenario, data and use case analysis for development of comprehensive test cases and assist in execution of those test cases.

Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Support the product and the team to help ensure high levels of user satisfaction and production stability
  • Help build strong, collaborative relationships with business and technology partners to ensure alignment and accelerate progress

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (or above) in technology related field, compliance, trading and/or asset management credentials a plus
  • 6 plus years of experience in business/systems analysis or product owner, working on large, complex programs, with expertise in Agile delivery environments and experience with technical practices including test driven development
  • Experience working in the financial industry and product experience is a plus

Experience with SQL, Oracle, or relational databases; Knowledge of web application architectures and familiarity with APIs, integration patterns, and data flows.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and planning skills with the ability to execute autonomously, act as a liaison between business and technology team members, and effectively manage risks/issues when they arise
  • Strong analysis skills, with proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining large, complex, and dynamic products and solutions across geographically dispersed teams (including proficiencies in workflow/context diagramming and value stream mapping)

Strong understanding of project planning, estimation, and tracking as well as experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar ALM tools

  • Proven quality assurance skills, with experience implementing best practices for automation, manual test execution, and end-to-end testing processes
  • A deep commitment to learning and understanding user needs to inform high-quality product outcomes
  • Self-motivation, drive, and a strong focus on client satisfaction and delivering results
  • Quick learner with a collaborative mindset and a strong team-oriented approach

The Team

Compliance Technology Team is a global group within Fidelity Investment Asset Management Technology division that designs, develops and supports Compliance software applications for the Asset Manage Compliance business.

Fidelity Asset Management Technology provides worldwide technology and support to all the Portfolio Management, Research, Trading and Investment Operations functions. Asset Management Technology is an integral partner for Asset Management to deliver innovative, scalable, industry-leading investment tools that enables the business teams to achieve competitive advantage globally.

  • Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
  • Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
