Printing Desktop Operator (Prepress Technician)

Description

Mittera Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Printing Desktop Operator to join our production team in Philadelphia, Pa. . In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and formatting digital files to ensure they are ready for high-quality commercial print production.

File Preparation: Format, check, and preflight digital files using Adobe Creative Suite to ensure proper resolution, color modes (CMYK/Pantone), bleeds, and fonts.

· Layout & Imposition: Create digital impositions, plates, or layouts optimized for digital and offset printing presses.

· Quality Control: Inspect proofs for accuracy, alignment, and formatting errors before final production runs.

· Troubleshooting: Resolve file corruptions, missing links, formatting discrepancies, and coloring issues.

· Collaboration: Work closely with graphic designers, sales representatives, and press operators to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements

· Experience: 2+ years of experience in prepress, desktop publishing, or a commercial print environment. XMF Experience a plus

· Software: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro). Experience with imposition software (e.g., Kodak Prinergy, Fiery Command WorkStation) is highly preferred.

· Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial print processes, color theory, trapping, bleed, and margins.

· Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent time-management skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
