Duties

• •Receive deliveries from the Government Publishing Office, Superintendent of Documents and private contractors.
• •Make internal Congressional pickup/deliveries between House and Senate offices as they relate to the Government Publishing Office's mission.
• •Verify incoming deliveries against receipt and determine if the right material and correct quantities are delivered.
• •Receives and breaks down deliveries received according to their destinations.
• •Maintains necessary work records and generates reports as required utilizing automated receiving and tracking system.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Printing Plant Worker (Receiving & Distribution), you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, #1 to be considered for this position. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT below is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. The screen-out element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Printing Plant Worker (Receiving & Distribution) without more than normal supervision. To be considered for this position, applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of this position. These duties include: 1)Distributing materials to secure government buildings or receiving platforms; 2) assisting in the receiving and distribution of items while managing inventory; and, 3) utilizing automated system to track incoming deliveries and automate logging of receipt. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement to be considered.
