Responsibilities:

  • Drive problem-solving and process improvement initiatives, escalating for broader support only when work extends beyond the normal course of business.
  • Provide engineering support for vehicle processing operations, including new product launches, prototype builds, and production ramp-ups.

Process & Capacity Support:

  • Maintain and update production documents governing layout, workflow, and system configurations.
  • Support capacity planning, layout redesigns, and expansion efforts to meet production targets.
  • Coordinate production-related documentation in advance of new product launches.

Production Systems & Tooling:

  • Determine appropriate production equipment and tooling in collaboration with production leadership, considering ergonomics, throughput, space constraints, and performance requirements.
  • Order and implement tooling and equipment to support production systems.
  • Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for critical production equipment.

Production Flow & Documentation:

  • Define and document the correct order of operations to ensure accurate work order execution.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Bills of Process and related production documentation for new and existing products.
  • Validate work instructions, installation guides, and standard work documentation during prototype and production build events.

Audit & Standardization:

  • Develop and maintain audit schedules for critical and Delta processes.
  • Support audit findings, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement activities.
  • Standardize processes and ensure documentation is current and aligned with approved process changes, Product Development, PLM systems, and standard work documents.

Collaboration & Influence:

Partner effectively with supervisors, cross-functional teams, and leadership to drive alignment and influence decisions related to manufacturing processes and improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related discipline).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working within organizational hierarchies and collaborating with supervisors, production teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision; highly proactive and self-directed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); intermediate Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables) preferred but not required.
