Procurement Business Data Analyst Expert

Description -

  • The Procurement Data & Analytics team is a high-performance, high-integrity, and high-growth team looking for motivated and talented individuals with a passion for data, new technology, and finding solutions to tough problems.
  • All Procurement Data and Analytics professionals possess an innate desire to embed analytics into the Procurement organization where analytics are consistently used to derive business value. Team members will help operationalize data and make data actionable, turning insight into action.

This role is expected to :

  • Develop a broad understanding of Procurement business processes, tools, data models, and analytics ecosystems to ensure end-to-end business enhancements
  • Translate business requirements into scalable analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Support the design, enhancement, and adoption of AI-powered analytics capabilities
  • Demonstrate influencing and communication skills to drive effective outcomes, including the ability to engage, advise, and influence at manager/ executive level
  • Mine and analyze data for predictive, discovery, and prescriptive insights
  • Identify and document data requirements to support both ongoing and ad hoc analysis
  • Combine innovation with operational excellence
  • Monitor data integrity
  • Explore and examine data from multiple disconnected sources

Key responsibilities :

1. Data Mining & Predictive Analytics:

  • Analyze large datasets (i.e spend, purchase orders, suppliers, contracts, and market indices) to identify patterns, correlations, and insights.
  • Develop and apply statistical models and algorithms to interpret complex data and support decision-making with valuable insights.

2. Insight-Driven Analytics:

Prioritize creative and innovative problem-solving that aligns with and fuels business strategy, focusing on forward-thinking, actionable outcomes rather than just retrospective reporting.

3. Process Improvement and Data Pipelines & Automation:

  • Identify opportunities for improving data management processes and implementing best practices.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Databricks) to extract, manipulate, and visualize data.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, business relevance, and usability.
  • 4. Storytelling with Data:
  • Convey complex information into executive-ready insights and recommendations grounded in data.
  • 5. Collaboration and Support:
  • Partner x-functionally within the Procurement Organization to understand business priorities and translate them into strategies and solutions
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and promote best practices in analytics and AI-enabled decision support.
  • 6. Compliance and Best Practices:
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data analysis and data management

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced analytics using SQL, Python, Power BI, Databricks, and related tools.
  • Experience with AI-enabled analytics solutions, natural language query tools, analytics agents, semantic models, and training datasets.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and business rule design.
  • Knowledge of data governance, responsible AI principles, and data quality practices.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field is required.
  • A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA with a focus on analytics, MS in Data Science or Business Analytics) is preferred and can be advantageous for advanced roles.
  • Proficiency in English
  • Professional Experience:
  • 5-7+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within Procurement /Supply Chain or a related field.
  • Experience building advanced analytics, automation, or AI-enabled analytics solutions.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in a relevant industry (e.g., manufacturing, technology) can be beneficial
