Procurement Coordinator
Riddleberger Brothers, Inc. (RBI), a leading mechanical contractor in the Shenandoah Valley, is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join our service team in Mount Crawford, VA. This full-time position will manage purchasing processes, vendor relationships, inventory, and material logistics to support efficient service operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage purchasing processes that promote value and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate equipment and material purchasing to support project schedules and minimize work in progress.
- Prioritize and process call-in material orders.
- Issue purchase orders with accurate vendor, part, pricing, and job or truck-stock information.
- Follow up with vendors, technicians, customers, and dispatchers regarding material availability and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best overall value.
- Utilize vendors participating in the Comfort Systems USA National Purchasing Program.
- Process material returns, warranty claims, and RMA requests.
- Develop and maintain a preferred vendor list.
- Safely operate forklifts and vehicles to transport materials as needed.
- Manage main stock inventory, including quarterly checks, inventory counts, and auditor coordination.
- Manage small-tool procurement and tracking by technician and vehicle.
- Stock and prepare vehicles for new hires.
- Assist with purchase order entry and pricing.
- Provide backup support for quote processing, work order processing, invoicing, quoting, and accounts payable invoice processing.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in the commercial HVAC industry.
- Experience in materials purchasing preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of materials and systems related to the mechanical or HVAC industry.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and follow-up skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Professional, positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license required; ability to meet company driver qualification standards preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed.
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, and stoop.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently carry up to 40 pounds unassisted in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to accurately read a ruler or tape measure.
- Ability to work 8- to 10-hour days, maintain a flexible schedule, and work overtime when necessary.
- Some exposure to outdoor weather or elements may be required.
