Key Responsibilities

What this position involves:

Managing complex procurement projects within landside transportation and equipment, maintenance & repair (EMR), depot, supply chain, warehouse, customs brokering and cold chain etc. within Great China Area, to ensure alignment between costs, commercial needs and operational execution.

According to authority level, management and participation in negotiations and establishing of Service Level Agreements between Maersk Line’s operation and its suppliers.

Engaging with the procurement stakeholders in the whole procurement community globally as needed.

Being accountable for integrating Contract Management frameworks to help ensure cost leadership, compliance and best in class supplier performance.

Performing supplier market analysis and organizing market intelligence for spend within specific sub-regions, and benchmarking Maersk cost competition and ensuring cost leadership.

An ability to solve complex challenges through analysis and based on accurate identification of underlying factors/causes, while being aware of the impact of proposed solutions outside their own immediate area.

Responsible for supplier relationship management, building strong relations with the vendors to drive value through the supply chain

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Procurement Manager responsible for procurement and contract management activities covering Great China, including Taiwan and Hongkong.

Ensure that every dollar spent is spent professionally. This is achieved by reducing operating expenses and driving a saving mindset by applying procurement capabilities and tools. The function aims to attain a competitive asset base for the future that is fully operational, at cost, on time.

This job comes with significant pressure to cut cost and increase the returned value from our suppliers. The person will be responsible for driving key procurement projects forward and will be an integral part of the team and its ability to deliver on our ambitious goals.

Ideal candidate may have experience in below categories:

At least 3-5 years of experience in Logistics, specifically Warehousing, Cold Chain, Intermodal and Supply chain management

At least 3 years’ experience within Procurement is preferred

A Degree in a Business/Supply Chain Management or a related field

Experience in Inland Transportation related roles is a strong plus

Experience within Warehousing, Distribution and Cold Chain would be an advantage.

Language skills: Proficient in English. Command of Mandarin is a prerequisite for this role.
