Role Overview
As a Product Designer at Thunkable, you’ll solve complex problems - spanning the product, engineering and marketing organizations and be responsible for the features and projects you bring to life. You will work closely with our engineering team to define features as well as with our marketing team to support growth efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Deeply understand our users and their pain points through customer conversations, user research, interviews, and usability testing.
Design intuitive user flows and interaction patterns while contributing to and evolving our design system.
Create polished, high-quality interfaces with strong attention to usability, accessibility, visual clarity, and consistency.
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to transform sophisticated technical systems into simple and elegant user experiences.
Prototype and iterate quickly, balancing speed with craft in a fast-moving startup environment.
Present and communicate design decisions clearly, connecting user experience choices to broader product strategy and business goals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, data, and marketing teams to bring ideas from concept to launch.
Help improve overall product consistency, interaction quality, and design standards across the platform.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in product design, with strong foundations in UX research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
Strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful product thinking, polished visual execution, and end-to-end product design work.
Expertise with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma
Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-stage startup environment.
Strong design craft with a passion for building experiences that are both beautiful and highly functional.
Ability to think from first principles, simplify complexity, and craft elegant solutions.
Comfort operating in ambiguity and moving quickly through 0→1 product development, rapid iteration, and experimentation.
Strong product intuition and ownership mindset, with the ability to independently drive projects from concept to launch.
Technical fluency with the ability to collaborate deeply with engineering teams on AI-native products, developer workflows, or technically sophisticated systems.
Familiarity with mobile app ecosystems, mobile-first product design, and responsive UX patterns.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise, conversion-oriented product copy.
Familiarity with no-code or low-code development platforms is highly preferred.
Nice to Have
Experience using modern AI-powered design and creative tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, AI-assisted prototyping tools, or emerging AI-native design workflows to accelerate ideation, prototyping, content generation, and product iteration.
Experience designing AI-native or generative AI products.
Familiarity with front-end development, design systems implementation, or close collaboration with engineering teams on highly technical workflows.
Experience working on mobile-first products, creator tools, developer platforms, or no-code / low-code products.
