Title: Product Development Manager - PrimeSpaces
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Company: Triumph Group of Companies
How Your Role Contributes to the Business
The Product Development Manager, PrimeSpaces owns the day-to-day development of our standardized low-rise building products, from housing, multiplexes and ADUs to cabins and selected institutional units. You'll take a concept and turn it into a product that's coordinated, costed, permit-ready, ready for our panel plant and easy for Sales to sell. That means working closely with external architects and engineers, our PrimePanel manufacturing team, R&D, suppliers, Marketing and Sales, and making sure everyone is working to the same plan. You'll know things are going well when products reach the sales pipeline complete instead of needing rework, when cost and margin are clear before launch, and when the handoff to manufacturing is the same every time. Good work here also means removing blockers before they stall a model, holding consultants and suppliers to the same bar on scope, schedule and budget, and pushing for the root cause when a design keeps causing problems on the floor or in the field. The role starts hands-on and grows into leading a dedicated PrimeSpaces product team as volume builds.
What We Offer
Salary: $100,000 to $130,000 (commensurate with experience)
Performance incentive of up to 25% of base, tied to product launches, cost and margin targets, and manufacturing readiness
Comprehensive group benefits package
Primarily office-based in Mississauga, with up to one remote day per week possible after onboarding
The chance to build a new product platform and the team behind it from the ground up
Direct access to an in-house prefab panel plant, R&D team and envelope specialists
Variety of work across housing, hospitality and institutional products
A team that values direct communication, ownership and getting it right
What You Bring to the Table
Technical Skills
7 or more years in residential product development, production homebuilding, prefab, modular or panelized construction, or commercial and institutional design and preconstruction
Experience developing repeatable house plans or models, option programs, standard details or product libraries
Solid understanding of wood framing, panelization and building envelope (walls, windows, roofs and cladding), and how design choices affect factory production
Comfortable with BOMs, target cost, margin and value engineering, plus supplier pricing and alternates
Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (Part 9, with Part 3 or accessibility an asset) and permit processes, and able to review Revit, CAD and BIM outputs
Attributes
You think in platforms, not one-offs. You know the difference between a design that looks good and a product that can be built and sold over and over.
You clear the path for others. When a consultant, supplier or internal team is stuck, you step in and get it moving instead of letting it sit.
You hold everyone to the same standard, whether it's an outside architect or an internal team, and you're comfortable pushing back when scope, cost or quality slips.
You make disciplined calls on customization and can tell Sales no (and explain why) when a request would break repeatability.
You build structure where it doesn't exist yet, and you're happy to stay hands-on while the function grows.
What You’ll Own
Own the PrimeSpaces product roadmap, development schedule, stage gates and launch readiness
Coordinate external architects, technologists, engineers and code consultants against clear scope, schedule and budget
Work with PrimePanel manufacturing to turn architectural concepts into repeatable panelized products, and make the manufacturing handoff consistent
Coordinate with R&D and Building Systems Design on standard wall, window, cladding, roof and envelope interfaces
Define product configurations, including shell packages, exterior envelope options and interior finish packages, plus clear rules for standard, optional and custom features
Manage product costing, BOM completeness, supplier pricing, alternates, target margins and value engineering
Build and maintain model-level product books (drawings, specs, option matrix, BOM, lead times, install scope, exclusions and customer decision points)
Work with suppliers on kitchens, HVAC, flooring, fixtures, exterior materials, windows and doors, and with Marketing and Sales so each product is easy to understand, price and sell
Gather feedback from sales, estimating, manufacturing and field installation and turn it into product revisions
Plan PrimeSpaces design and estimating capacity, recommend what to bring in-house, and build the case for dedicated team members as volume grows
