the posting

Wallbit is the global account for professionals working for companies abroad. A banking experience where you can get paid, spend, and invest from a single place, designed so that earning in dollars is no longer just the starting point, but a clear path to building your financial life.

Backed by Y Combinator and leading Silicon Valley investors, we are already helping tens of thousands of users manage their finances.

If you’re someone who enjoys owning what you do end-to-end, you’ll find the space here to grow, make decisions, and see the real impact of your work.

We think long-term, about the product, the team, and the people who use it, and that shows in how we discuss ideas, make decisions, and support each other day to day. We care more about solid solutions than noise, and we value people with strong judgment who are eager to solve problems that truly matter, in an industry that’s only just beginning to take itself seriously.

We’re looking for a Product Engineer who combines strong engineering skills with a product mindset to build features that solve real user problems and drive business impact.

You’ll have ownership over what you build, working closely with the team to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and turn ideas into valuable product experiences. From understanding a problem to shipping a solution and measuring its impact, you’ll play an active role in shaping the product.

What You’ll Be Doing

Develop full-stack features (backend and frontend/mobile).

Own features end-to-end, from understanding the problem and exploring potential solutions to technical implementation, deployment, and monitoring.

Take an active role in product development, identifying opportunities to improve the user experience and proactively proposing new features and improvements.

Work closely with the team to translate business needs and user problems into effective, scalable technical solutions.

Continuously challenge existing solutions, identify inefficiencies, and look for ways to make the product and the development process better.

What We’re Looking For

3–5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Product Engineer, or in a similar role.

Experience working with modern backend and frontend/mobile technologies. Our current stack includes Laravel (PHP) and React Native, supported by Python and JavaScript. You don’t need experience with this exact tech stack, we value strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Experience using AI-powered tools to accelerate development and improve workflows.

Proven ability to take ownership of features and projects, from initial problem-solving through implementation and delivery.

Comfortable working in fast-paced environments where experimentation and rapid iteration are part of the development process.

Strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and solving problems efficiently.

A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with different teams to turn ideas into effective solutions.

Nice to Have

Previous experience working in high-growth startups.

What we offer

  • 🌍 Contractor modality with global compensation
  • 🌴 15 business days of paid time off, plus your local public holidays
  • ✈️ Work from anywhere in the world for up to 2 months each year
  • 💻 Company-provided laptop
  • 🍽️ Office lunch
  • 🤝 Join a collaborative, high-performing team where ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning are part of how we work every day.
  • 🚀 High impact & exponential growth: Take full ownership, drive meaningful initiatives, and grow as fast as your ambition takes you.
