Product Engineer (Mid-Level)

About the Role

Join the product engineering team at a Series A consumer fintech company building tools to help people manage cash flow and improve their financial wellbeing. You will build and operate customer-facing features, working across backend systems, product analytics, and production releases.

What You'll Do

Build product features end to end, including domain models, business logic, and API integrations.

Deliver and iterate on product work through incremental releases guided by data and product milestones.

Use SQL and analytics tools to evaluate product and system performance.

Debug complex state machines in event-driven systems to support a reliable customer experience.

Ship through CI/CD, own implementations in production, and respond to incidents as needed.

What We're Looking For

At least 3 years of experience building backend features end to end for production systems, including meaningful early-stage startup experience.

Proficiency designing and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.

Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka or Pub/Sub, and debugging distributed systems.

Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including data modeling and query optimization.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and code review.

Experience writing SQL and using analytics tools to assess product and system performance.

Experience building consumer-facing products and strong computer science fundamentals.

Go experience on GCP is valuable, as is experience in fintech or other data-intensive, high-velocity environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is $120,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California. Candidates based in Seattle or willing to relocate to San Francisco or Seattle for in-person work are also considered.
