Description

Position Purpose:

The Product Manager owns one or more products within DCG’s 360 suite of software solutions licensed to the banking industry. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this individual works closely with technology, data science, and design/user experience to turn client needs and data insights into well-defined requirements and well-built products.

This is a hands-on role spanning backlog management, requirements, prototyping, and testing. As AI becomes a larger part of the suite, the Product Manager also helps ensure AI-generated answers in their products are accurate, clear, and consistent. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of balance sheet risk management and banking, sound judgment about what a good answer looks like to a bank executive, and a keen interest in AI and design thinking.

Responsibilities:

Product Ownership

  • Own the roadmap for assigned products, contributing to the overall 360 suite strategy
  • Translate client feedback, market research, and usage insights into product priorities
  • Measure the success of new capabilities through adoption and usage
  • Contribute to product packaging and launch planning

Product Delivery

  • Prioritize and maintain the product backlog, translating initiatives into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Plan releases with the technology group, managing dependencies and development risks
  • Lead feature testing and quality assurance, validating functionality and analytical output from a banker’s perspective
  • Partner with data science on the quality and transparency of analytical output

AI Quality

  • Review AI-generated answers for assigned products, including DCG IntelligenceTM, for accuracy and clarity from a banker’s perspective
  • Define what a good answer looks like for assigned products, and partner with QA on testing AI responses
  • Maintain the product context AI features draw on, including field and metric definitions, business rules, and suggested prompts
  • Identify where answers fall short or would improve with additional client data, and work with technology and data science on fixes

Design & User Experience

  • Create wireframes and prototypes to validate concepts before development
  • Contribute to a consistent user experience across the suite

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with customer success on client adoption and feedback, including feedback on AI answers
  • Support consulting, sales, and marketing with product expertise for client presentations, sales materials, and product communications
  • Keep stakeholders informed of progress, dependencies, and deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, or engineering
  • 5 plus years of related balance sheet management, banking, or financial technology experience
  • Strong understanding of community bank and credit union balance sheets, including loan and deposit portfolio analytics, ALM, and liquidity risk
  • Strong interest in AI and how it can help banks understand their data, with an awareness of its responsible use in a regulated industry
  • Analytical, detail-oriented approach to testing and validating results; comfort working directly with data (SQL a plus)
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex results to clients and colleagues of all levels
  • Experience with product management, Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence, or wireframing and prototyping a plus
