About UltaHost:
UltaHost is a global web hosting and cloud infrastructure company providing reliable, high-performance hosting solutions to customers worldwide. We offer a broad range of services, including VPS, dedicated servers, shared and WordPress hosting, domains, and other cloud-based solutions.
As a remote-first and technology-driven company, we continuously develop our products, platforms, and internal systems with a strong focus on automation, scalability, security, and user experience. Our international team works across product, engineering, infrastructure, support, and business functions to build solutions that make hosting simpler, faster, and more accessible.
Job Overview
We are looking for a Product Manager who combines full product ownership with hands-on engineering. This is not a coordination-only role: you will build, write code, and actively take part in development alongside the engineering team, in addition to owning the product backlog and delivery end to end.
You will work across frontend, backend, and infrastructure, and you will use AI-assisted development as a core part of how you build. You will move from idea to working software quickly while keeping quality, security, and maintainability high.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership
- Own and maintain the product backlog, keeping it prioritized, refined, and aligned with business goals.
- Translate business needs and stakeholder requests into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Define product requirements, specifications, and scope for new features and improvements.
- Lead backlog refinement and sprint planning, and take part in reviews and retrospectives.
- Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders, designers, and engineering teams.
- Make trade-off decisions on scope, priority, and timelines, and communicate them clearly.
- Define success metrics for features and track product performance after release.
- Gather feedback from users, internal teams, and data, and turn it into product improvements.
- Maintain product documentation, release notes, and roadmap visibility.
- Accept or reject completed work against the defined acceptance criteria.
Technical & Engineering
- Actively participate in development as a hands-on contributor, building features across frontend and backend.
- Take ownership of development tasks within sprints, not only defining them.
- Build prototypes, proofs of concept, MVPs, and internal tools yourself to validate ideas before and during full development.
- Write production-quality code that follows the team's standards, reviews, and testing practices.
- Review pull requests and technical designs from both a product and an engineering perspective.
- Handle DevOps work directly: deployments, CI/CD pipelines, environments, and monitoring.
- Investigate production issues, reproduce bugs, and help fix them.
- Understand system architecture well enough to make informed product and technical decisions.
- Assess technical feasibility, effort, and risk for proposed features.
AI-Assisted Development
- Use AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as a core part of daily work.
- Use AI to speed up prototyping, code generation, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
- Critically review AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Help define team practices and guidelines for effective, safe use of AI in the development workflow.
- Explore opportunities to add AI-powered features to the product.
Requirements
Experience
- 3+ years in a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or Product Engineer role, or 3+ years as a software engineer with strong exposure to product ownership.
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and owning a backlog.
- Proven hands-on experience building and shipping software yourself. You should expect to spend a significant part of your time coding and building.
Technical Skills
- Frontend: Solid understanding of modern frontend development (e.g., React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML/CSS).
- Backend: Experience with at least one backend language/framework (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP/Laravel, Go).
- APIs & Data: REST APIs, API design, and relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- DevOps: Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Linux servers, and cloud or self-hosted infrastructure. Kubernetes experience is a plus.
- Monitoring: Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools.
- AI Tools: Demonstrated, practical use of AI coding assistants in real projects.
Product Skills
- Strong ability to write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications.
- Ability to prioritize using business value, effort, and risk.
- Comfortable working with data and metrics to guide decisions.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Notion, or similar.
Soft Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Able to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders and business needs to engineers.
- Strong ownership mindset and comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Nice to Have
- Background in SaaS, cloud, or infrastructure products.
- Experience with UI/UX principles and working closely with designers.
- Experience building features on top of LLM APIs or AI agents.
- Scrum or Product Owner certification (e.g., PSPO, CSPO).
