Job Description:

We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on Product & Process Technologist to join our dynamic Site Industrialization Team at our Buck site. Operating within the Product & Process Implementation function, you will act as a pivotal technical bridge between innovation, development, and full-scale manufacturing.

In this role, you will champion technical excellence, process standardization, and continuous efficiency improvements. Leveraging root-cause investigation and statistical analysis tools, you will optimize production conditions, reduce Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and ensure seamless rollouts of new recipes and packaging innovations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization & Compliance: Continuously monitor and adapt processing conditions to ensure all existing recipes and raw material adjustments run at peak efficiency while consistently meeting strict finished product specifications, Quality & Food Safety (Q&FS) standards, and yield targets.
  • Continuous Improvement & COGS Reduction: Apply root cause analysis, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing principles to identify bottlenecks, eliminate process variability, and deliver measurable cost efficiencies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Wet Process Engineers and Wet Product Development teams to validate and deploy new recipes, ingredients, and processes within verified site capabilities.
  • Pilot Scale Validation: Collaborate actively during pilot testing at the Quality & Innovation Center / Product Development Center (QIC/PDC) to verify packaging and recipe transformations prior to factory scale-up.
  • Scale-Up & Vertical Start-Up: Support development initiatives from concept to industrial rollout, driving smooth technical handovers and fast, vertical start-ups for new products and packaging.

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: some years of hands-on experience in a food manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, with a background in Quality & Food Safety, Process Engineering, or Product/Process Development.
  • Technical Mindset: Solid foundation in statistical analysis tools, root-cause problem solving, and process capability analysis.
  • Communication & Languages: Professional fluency in both German and English is essential to collaborate effectively with factory floor teams, regional stakeholders, and global R&D networks.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong teamwork skills, agility, a proactive mindset, and a passion for industrial problem-solving and operational excellence.

  • Values-Led Culture: Be part of an organization driven by our iconic Five Principles (Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom), putting purpose and people at the heart of every decision.
  • Continuous Growth & Development: Access world-class development opportunities from day one, including tailored leadership tracks and programs via our globally renowned Mars University .
