About The Company

GROPYUS is a technology-based construction company focused on building multi-story residential buildings. Thanks to its prefabricated building system with a wide range of design options, automated offsite construction, and fully digitalized processes, the company is able to create resilient timber housing quickly and cost-effectively. GROPYUS is using scalable construction and manufacturing solutions to tap into a future market, strengthen Europe’s innovation capacity, and play a substantial role in improving sustainability. The company delivers its multi-family houses as a complete and turnkey solution. The combination of technology, construction, robotics, and manufacturing expertise means buildings can be created in a fully digitalized end-to-end process. The building system is based on versatile wall and slab elements, making it easier to optimize land use, customize plans, and build fast with both off-site construction and on-site assembly. This system is complemented by the Building Operating System–developed in-house.

About the role

We are building a highly automated manufacturing facility for prefabricated building components in Richen and are currently transitioning from ramp-up into full-scale serial production. Following a recent reorganization, the local Manufacturing Engineering team has full ownership of site processes. We define how production is run rather than having processes handed down to us.

As a Production Engineer, you will work where value is created: on the production line. You will analyze operations together with shift leaders and operators, eliminate recurring issues at their root cause, and embed sustainable solutions into production standards. Short decision-making paths, a small team, and real ownership mean that decisions you make today can be implemented on the line tomorrow.

Your area of responsibilities include:

Analyze production processes on the line, identify bottlenecks and recurring sources of disruption, and implement sustainable corrective actions.

Provide technical support during line disruptions and derive permanent corrective measures from recurring issues.

Independently plan and implement continuous improvement (CIP/KVP) initiatives and measure their impact on cycle time, quality, and equipment availability.

Apply and establish Lean Manufacturing methods within the plant, including standard work, line balancing, and waste elimination.

Create and maintain process standards and work instructions, and assess the impact of engineering changes (CRs) on production performance.

Support shift leadership and production operators in daily operations and introduce improvements in close collaboration with them.

About you

Min. 3 years of experience as a Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in a paced, high-volume production environment, with direct impact on shopfloor operations.

Strong communication skills in both German and English.

Preferred qualifications

Completed technical apprenticeship or vocational training prior to university studies.

Experience supporting the ramp-up of a new production facility or manufacturing line.

Knowledge of Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or Shopfloor Management.

Experience in prefabrication, timber construction, or modular construction.
