Production Intern

Job Description:

MSI Express is a leading manufacturing and contract packaging partner trusted by top CPG brands, as well as emerging and private label brands.

Internship Details:

· Duration: 10 weeks (Summer 2027)

· Schedule: Monday – Friday; Approximately 8 hours per day/40 hours per week

· Pay: $19.00/hour

· Benefits: This role is not eligible for benefits

• About the Role:
• As a Production Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

• •Manufacturing Operations Support: Assist production teams in monitoring daily manufacturing activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met.
• •Continuous Improvement Projects: Support initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiencies, and optimizing production processes.
• •Performance Monitoring: Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and process bottlenecks.
• •Standard Work Development: Assist in creating and updating work instructions, process documentation, and visual management tools.
• •Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to support operational goals.

What we look for in a Production Intern :

• •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• •Interest in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement.
• •Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• •Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• •Currently enrolled in an Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related academic program.
• •Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• •Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments.
• •Frequent exposure to production areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial conditions.
• •Must follow all safety requirements and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• •Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing facilities.
• •Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms as necessary.
• •Must be able to occasionally bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work around equipment during project activities.
• •Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
• •Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• •Periodic travel may be required to other MSI Express locations and end-of-internship events.
