The Production Planner is a temporary contract role through March of 2027 and is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that support customer demand, inventory objectives, and manufacturing capacity. This role coordinates closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Materials, and Customer Service to ensure production priorities are clearly communicated, and materials are available to support on-time delivery. This temporary role will help ensure business continuity to Novanta customers during the production site transfer project.

Key Responsibilities

• •Create and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, inventory targets, and available capacity.
• •Release, monitor, and update manufacturing work orders.
• •Identify schedule risks, capacity constraints, and material shortages that may impact production.
• •Coordinate with Manufacturing leaders to establish and communicate production priorities.
• •Work closely with Purchasing and Materials personnel to ensure material availability.
• •Track schedule adherence and support actions to recover missed production plans.
• •Maintain accurate planning and scheduling data within the ERP/MRP system.
• •Participate in daily production meetings and communicate schedule changes to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• •Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• •2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
• •Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• •Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• •Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• •Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust quickly to changing business needs.
• •Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Experience in an electronic, industrial, or discrete manufacturing environment.
• •Knowledge of MRP, inventory control, and capacity planning concepts.
• •APICS/ASCM certification or related supply chain training.
• •Experience supporting S&OE or production execution processes.
