Job Title: Production Supervisor - Nights Division/Department Reports to: Production Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Work Comp Code: 2836

Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising the factory during the night shift operation. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. The supervisor is ultimately responsible for quality, production and safety from 3pm to 3:30am, Sunday-Thursday. The job requires hands-on management. Supervisor will spend 90% on the production floor/10% in the office.

Primary Responsibilities:

Supervisor Duties:

  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development.
  • Makes employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Perform accident investigations with safety manager.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Assign employees to work stations.
  • Ensure employees stay at workstations until the buzzer, and return to the workstations prior to buzzer sounding.
  • Performance review of direct reports.

Production Duties:

  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Effectively cooperate with other plant supervisors to ensure successful shift transition
  • Monitor the production floor.
  • Enforce production and quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Safety:

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the facility through good housekeeping practices.
  • Follow all safety and OSHA guidelines.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in management related field
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Previous supervisory/management experience
  • Ability to behave decisively.
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts quickly.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent planning, negotiating, and organizing skills.
  • Great physical health to manage the challenges of supervising the night shift
  • Ability to motivate co-workers, colleagues and others.
  • Patient and self-confidence.
  • Ability to operate in a systematic and logical manner.
  • Good judgment.

Physical Demands:

  • Will require ample standing and walking
  • May require some bending, twisting and lifting

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Requires the use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, and hardhats. Jewelry is not permitted.

Special Requirements:

Must pass:

  • Pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Background check.

Employee Benefits

  • 40 hours of non-paid time off starts at time of hire and requires supervisor approval to use.
  • PTO accrual starts at time of hire; 1 hour earned for every 40 hours worked. PTO can be used for any reason after 90 days of employment.
  • Vacation accrual starts once eligibility time has been met; requires supervisor approval to use. Increase in vacation time earned is based on years of service schedule.
  • 10 paid holidays once eligibility time has been met.
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision along with other voluntary insurances available to employees who have met their eligibility time and work at minimum 30 hours a week.
  • $50k life insurance policy provided to employees who have met their eligibility time and work a minimum of 30 hours a week. Additional coverage available at a discounted rate.

  • 401 (k) retirement for employees 21 years and older with ability to contribute 1st of the month following date of hire. Company match up to 50% of a 6% employee contribution after 90 days. Company contributions are discretionary and will be made after our internal approval processes are completed and all requirements have been met.
  • Profit Sharing for employees 21 years and older, have met minimum required worked hours as of January 1st or July 1st based on date of hire. This is automatically contributed to annually. Company contributions are discretionary and will be made after our internal approval processes are completed and all requirements have been met.
  • Costco membership to employees with at least 1 year of service on or before April 1st.
  • Tuition reimbursement/seminars for continued education. Company approval is required and must be related to employee’s current or potential future position with the company,

Requirements

Shifts available dependent on current openings based on production needs :

Night shift Su-Th 5:30pm-3:30am (with ability to work additional hours and days as production needs)
