the posting
Amazon is building a consumer credit product in Mexico that will give millions of customers flexible, affordable ways to shop. We are looking for a Program Manager III to join our International Emerging Payments team and drive the cross-functional execution of this early-stage business from launch through scale. You will own the program plan, connect workstreams across product, technology, risk, operations, finance, legal, compliance, marketing, and customer service, and build the mechanisms, controls, and processes that do not exist yet. If you are a resourceful, data-driven program manager who is skilled at prioritization and stakeholder management and wants to shape a new business from the ground up, we want to hear from you.
- Key job responsibilities
- - Own the end-to-end program plan for Amazon Credit in Mexico, including milestone tracking, critical path analysis, and workstream-level delivery timelines across product, technology, risk, operations, finance, legal, compliance, marketing, and customer service teams.
- - Drive stakeholder alignment by leading weekly program meetings, preparing leadership-level status updates, and managing escalations, dependencies, and scope changes through structured governance processes.
- - Build and maintain program dashboards, risk registers, and reporting mechanisms that give leadership clear visibility into program health and progress. Use AI tools to augment analysis, improve reporting quality, and accelerate decision-making.
- - Partner with Amazon Credit teams in other geographies and central platform teams to identify synergies, share learnings, and align on shared versus local requirements.
- - Drive operational readiness for each launch phase by ensuring standard operating procedures are documented, teams are trained, and testing is completed across all workstreams.
- A day in the life
- You might start the morning reviewing program metrics and running a standup with your project teams to clear blockers and confirm the week's priorities. By midday, you could be leading a working session with product managers, risk analysts, and operations leads to align on requirements for an upcoming milestone. Later, you might prepare a business review narrative for senior leadership or coordinate with Amazon Credit teams in other countries to compare approaches. Because this is an early-stage business, you will regularly design new processes and controls rather than follow existing playbooks.
- About the team
- The MX Payments team, part of Amazon's International Emerging Payments organization, manages the local payment experience for physical and digital offerings on the Amazon Mexico store. Our mission is to design payment experiences that increase access, affordability, and customer trust. Amazon Credito is an early-stage business, so you will join a collaborative, hands-on group where your work directly shapes how the product scales. As the business grows, you will have opportunities to engage with the broader fintech ecosystem in Mexico, connect with Payments teams across emerging markets, and take on additional products that expand the scope and complexity of your role.
Basic qualifications
- - 5+ years of program or project management experience
- - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
