Who we are looking for

As a member of the Strategic Implementation team within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) of State Street Investment Management, you will join a global project management team responsible for supporting the most strategic cross-functional initiatives across Investment Management.

We are hiring an experienced Program Manager at the Vice President II level to help coordinate and drive the organization’s transformation to a new Way of Working. The role will connect multiple workstreams, translate the target product operating model into an integrated execution plan, and maintain transparency across milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and outcomes.

This is not a traditional project management role. The successful candidate will bring practical experience with product operating models, Agile ways of working, and complex organizational change, together with the program discipline needed to move an organization-wide transformation forward. This is a full-time role based in Boston or London, with four days in the office expected per week and one day of remote work.

Why this role is important to us

State Street Investment Management is advancing new ways of working to strengthen our focus on clients, product accountability, cross-functional delivery, prioritization, and outcome management. With over four decades of experience and trillions of dollars in assets under management, we offer one of the broadest selections of services across asset classes, risk profiles, regions and styles. As pioneers in index, ETF, and ESG investing, we are always inventing new ways to invest.

As the Ways of Working Program Manager, you will:

  • Coordinate integrated program management for the Ways of Working transformation, connecting activities across initiatives into a cohesive roadmap and execution plan.
  • Translate the product operating model strategy into practical plans spanning pilots, capability development, governance, enablement, operating-model changes, and broader scaling.
  • Partner with business and technical leads to align workstream plans to the broader Ways of Working strategy and identify conflicts, gaps, and decisions requiring resolution.
  • Run the program governance and operating cadence, including stakeholder management, status reporting, decision tracking, risk and issue management, and escalation of roadblocks.
  • Engage senior stakeholders to define outcomes, secure alignment, and drive the involved parties toward completion of deliverables, proactively resolving conflicts, removing barriers, and escalating as needed. Build strong connections with stakeholders at all levels to ensure active engagement in program governance, solution design, decision-making, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with leaders responsible for capability maturity, governance, business architecture, portfolio and funding, metrics and OKRs, enablement, culture, and technology delivery to support a consistent operating-model change.
  • Support Ways of Working pilots and rollout activities, capturing lessons learned and incorporating them into subsequent releases, playbooks, and scaling plans.
  • Establish practical mechanisms to track transformation outcomes, adoption, and delivery progress without relying solely on activity or milestone reporting.
  • Create and maintain the integrated roadmap and program documentation, including but not limited to: milestones, sequencing, dependencies, decision points, risks, issues, actions, and expected outcomes.
  • Identify and track risks to timelines, resourcing or otherwise; formulate data-driven remediation options and recommendations, seek and obtain stakeholder buy-in on the path forward, and ensure completion of necessary

  • Demonstrated experience with product operating model transformation and/or Agile delivery.
  • Experience establishing an organized and structured approach to change initiatives, with a strong awareness of business risk.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with our business and technology partners.
  • Comfort interacting with all levels of the organization.
