Summary

Serves as the Program Support Assistant (OA) to the Audiology and Speech Pathology Service. The Program Support Assistant (OA) position consists of duties that will utilize administrative and technical skills, positive communications skills with internal and external customers, and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Duties

This announcement will remain open until the closing date,10/09/2026,or when the applicant count is reached, whichever is earlier. The applicant count is the point at which the first 30 applications are received. All applications submitted that day up to 11:59 p.m. eastern standard time on the date the applicant count is reached will be accepted and considered. Include, but not limited to: Assist in preparation of memos and PowerPoint presentations. Prepare spreadsheets for tracking and trends. Maintain calendar and schedules appointment, arranges conferences, departmental meetings. Manage entry of OT/CT, FMLA, leave requests. Enter 2237 for equipment turn-in. Maintain cost controls; tracks orders for supplies, equipment, repair; & purchase card ordering. Respond to requests for information, both verbal and written; prepares typed responses to requests. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM Telework: As determined by the agency policy. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/09/2026. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Answering phones and log calls; provides directions and assistance to patients and guests; provides friendly, excellent customer service; greeting patients and offering assistance for appointments; locates appointments in computer system; reports safety concerns. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed four (4) years above high school. NOTE: Transcripts (unofficial or official) must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. OR, Combination of Experience & Education: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education. NOTE: Transcripts (unofficial or official) must be submitted with your application materials.
