About the Role

NXP is seeking a motivated Project Engineer / Project Management Intern to support facilities, infrastructure, and site development projects at our Chandler semiconductor manufacturing campus. This position provides hands-on experience supporting project planning, execution, and reporting while working alongside project managers, facilities engineers, operations teams, and other site stakeholders.

The selected candidate will gain exposure to engineering project management within a high-tech manufacturing environment and will own a defined project or improvement initiative throughout the internship, culminating in a final presentation to site leadership.

What You Will Do

  • Support project planning, execution, and closeout activities, including scope development, scheduling, documentation, and status reporting.
  • Assist in coordinating project activities across Facilities, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and other site organizations.
  • Participate in project meetings, track action items, and help drive deliverables to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, trackers, dashboards, and reports to communicate project status and key performance indicators.
  • Review project documentation, engineering packages, and technical data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist with project risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution activities.
  • Support field walkdowns, design reviews, and project execution activities within an active semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Help prepare presentations and project updates for engineering teams and site leadership.
  • Gain exposure to capital projects, facilities infrastructure, utility systems, reliability initiatives, and site capacity improvements.
  • Own a defined project or improvement initiative and present project results and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Follow all site safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • Engineering Management
  • Or a related technical discipline
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work on-site in Chandler, Arizona.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship, co-op, leadership, or project experience.
  • Familiarity with project management principles or methodologies.
  • Experience using Power BI, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar reporting and scheduling tools.
  • Interest in semiconductor manufacturing, facilities engineering, construction, infrastructure, or capital project management.
  • Experience analyzing and presenting data to technical or non-technical audiences.
