Job Description

Job Title: Project Lead

Location: Bangalore India.

Why join Rolls-Royce?

At Rolls-Royce we are proud to be a business that has truly helped to shape the modern world and are committed to always being a force for progress; powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere.

By joining Rolls-Royce, you'll have the opportunity to work on world-class solutions, supported by a culture that believes individuality is our greatest strength, and all perspectives, experiences and backgrounds help us innovate and enable our high-performance culture.

Summary:

  • The Project Lead delivers an individual project, defined work package or a small number of less complex projects to agreed scope, specification, time, cost, quality and risk outcomes. The role maintains the plan, controls and delivery discipline needed to turn requirements into agreed outputs and escalate issues early.
  • As part of the Portfolio Office deployable resource pool, the role is assigned to priority projects under a Programme Manager. It coordinates contributors, applies common standards and leads delivery through influence, while the Programme Manager retains accountability for wider programme integration and benefits.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Owns delivery of the assigned project or work package — defining scope, outputs and acceptance criteria and achieving the committed time, cost and quality position.
  • Maintains the integrated delivery plan — connecting activities, milestones, dependencies, resources and decision points.
  • Controls delivery and risk — keeping scope, schedule, cost, quality, change and decision records current, identifying deviation early and leading recovery or escalation.
  • Coordinates cross-functional contributors — clarifying ownership and resolving interfaces within the assigned scope.
  • Provides clear stakeholder insight — leading progress reviews and presenting concise status, forecasts, options and decisions required.
  • Connects project delivery to programme outcomes — managing dependencies and providing reliable information on progress, risk and contribution to benefits.
  • Applies and improves common project-management practice — sharing learning across the Portfolio Office between deployments.

Key Experiences and Qualifications:

Practical project-management experience delivering defined projects, work packages or workstreams within a wider programme, with evidence of achieving agreed delivery outcomes.

Working knowledge of scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, change, governance, communications and project controls, applied through recognised project-management methods.

Strong organisation, analysis and stakeholder-coordination skills, with the judgement to identify issues early and distinguish between owned action and escalation.

An adaptable individual contributor who can move between assignments, build effective relationships quickly and maintain consistent professional standards across different project environments.

Proficiency in written English is required.

Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future. Our multi-year transformation programme aims to turn Rolls-Royce into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Join us, and it can be your future vision too.

Rolls-Royce are committed to being a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace where individuality is valued, diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and everyone can thrive.

As part of our selection process, candidates in certain locations may be asked to complete an online assessment, which can include cognitive and behavioural aptitude testing relevant to the role. If required, full instructions for the next steps will be provided.
