Project Low Voltage Designer

We are looking for an Project Low Voltage Designer to join our team in our Philadelphia or Wayne office.

The Project Low Voltage Designer is responsible for the design and documentation of Low Voltage (Telecom, Security and AV) Systems on major projects, ensuring alignment with design intent, codes, and quality standards. This role supports project delivery from concept through construction, coordinating across disciplines, managing responsibilities across multiple projects, and identifying potential risks or liability concerns in coordination with the Discipline Director. The Project Low Voltage Designer also contributes to project planning efforts, including estimating hours for specific tasks and overall project scope, and provides mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.

Essential Functions:

This position demonstrates advanced skills in:

• •Documentation: Guiding the modeling and creation of drawings used to accurately deliver projects, reviews key project decisions with Discipline leadership
• •Software: Understanding the software analysis to ensure accuracy
• •Building Technology: Applying an understanding of construction methods to building design
• •Project Delivery: Progressing project work from schematic design through construction documentation, ensuring design and production efforts are completed within the project schedule and budget
• •Codes: Knowledge of local and national building and material specific codes ensuring project designs and construction documents comply with applicable codes
• •Quality Standards: Promoting project quality through adherence to and the ongoing improvement of the company standards, including participation in QA/QC reviews
• •Sustainability: Conceiving projects with rigor to resolve energy and environmental impacts and meet sustainability goals
• •Design Generation: Initiating the design approach to distinctive solutions which consider the totality of a project
• •Material Research: Selecting equipment and identifying appropriate applications that consider system performance and project requirements
• •Construction Administration: Managing the construction phase through responsive coordination with the builder to maintain design intent and contractual requirements
• •Calculations: Determining and applying calculation and analysis models to evaluate engineering conditions and guide project design decisions
• •Cost Consciousness: Analyzing construction cost estimates for alignment of design intent and approved budgets and develops alternatives for controlling project costs
• •Design Narratives: Communicating engineering design intent, technical decisions, and system impacts effectively to clients, consultants, and project teams
• •Specification Writing: Defining the design intent for material qualitative requirements and performance standards to ensure contractually enforceable and accurate representation of the system design

Exhibits proficient ability in:

• •Planning: Developing effective spatial configuration options through analysis of adjacencies, phasing and expansion
• •Profitability: Effectively managing fees, resources, and the project delivery schedule to ensure the financial health of a project

Requirements

• •Minimum of an Associate’s degree or technical school certification in a related field, or 10+ years of field experience installing/designing applicable systems
• •RCDD and/or CISSP and/or CTS-D preferred
• •Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and the Microsoft Suite
