Our portfolio includes electro-mechanical assemblies, virtual reality components, infection control interfaces, and industrial and medical display systems. With a focus on quality, precision, and customer satisfaction, we support a wide range of industries from our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities across Coeur d'Alene (Idaho), Taiwan, and Shenzhen, China.

Role Summary

The Project Manager leads customer programs from new product introduction (NPI) through stable production, serving as the primary point of contact between our customers and our engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams. This role suits a manufacturing project manager with 3–5 years of experience who brings enough engineering grounding to understand drawings, BOMs and build issues, and who can keep complex HMI programs on schedule, on budget and aligned with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction

Lead NPI programs from customer award through prototype, first article, pilot build and release to full production.

Build and maintain integrated project schedules covering design reviews, tooling, material lead times, builds and qualification milestones.

Run phase-gate and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews with engineering and manufacturing to catch cost, quality and yield risks early.

Coordinate first article inspection (FAI), PPAP or equivalent customer approval packages with Quality.

Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and revision control so BOMs, drawings and routings stay accurate in the ERP system.

Program and Project Management

Own scope, schedule, budget and risk for an assigned portfolio of customer programs.

Track project financials, including quotes versus actuals, NRE and tooling costs, and margin impact.

Lead regular cross-functional project meetings and drive clear action items, owners and due dates.

Identify risks and issues early, develop mitigation plans and escalate when needed.

Report program status to internal leadership and customers through concise dashboards and reviews.

Customer Support

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, from quote handoff through sustaining production.

Translate customer requirements, specifications and changes into clear internal direction.

Manage customer communication on delivery commitments, schedule changes and technical questions.

Coordinate responses to quality issues, RMAs and corrective actions (8D / CAPA) with Quality and Engineering.

Build long-term relationships that support repeat business and new program opportunities.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Planning and Sales to keep programs aligned.

Work with Supply Chain to manage long-lead and critical components and mitigate shortages.

Support continuous improvement efforts that reduce cost, shorten lead times and improve yield.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial), Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.

3–5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally electronics, electromechanical or contract manufacturing.

Hands-on engineering exposure - for example, time in a manufacturing, process, product or test engineering role, or direct technical work on builds.

Demonstrated experience leading new product introduction from prototype through production release.

Customer-facing experience managing requirements, schedules and issue resolution for OEM customers.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and bills of materials.

Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet or similar).

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting status to customers and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

PMP, CAPM or similar project management certification.

Experience with HMI products such as membrane switches, keypads, touchscreens, displays or electromechanical assemblies.

Background in regulated or high-reliability markets such as aerospace, defense, medical or industrial.

Familiarity with quality frameworks and standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100 or ISO 13485, and tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA and FAI.

Experience with Infor SyteLine (CloudSuite Industrial) or a comparable ERP system.

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training.

Experience coordinating programs across multiple sites or international manufacturing locations.

Skills and Competencies

Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage several programs at different lifecycle stages at once.

Technically credible with engineers and production staff, and clear with non-technical stakeholders.

Proactive problem solver who surfaces risks early and drives issues to closure.

Customer-focused, balancing customer commitments with internal capacity and cost.

Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information in a fast-moving production

Work Environment

Office and manufacturing floor setting; regular time on the production floor to support builds and resolve issues.

Occasional travel to customer sites or other 1HMX facilities.

Must follow all safety, ESD and quality procedures on the manufacturing floor.

Equal Opportunity

1HMX /AIS is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
