Overview

Do you enjoy bringing people, processes, and technical expertise together to deliver complex engineering projects? Are you motivated by creating structure, fostering collaboration, and supporting the successful delivery of designs that will help shape the future of the nuclear industry?

Join us as a Project Manager - Design Delivery, where you'll manage a range of projects across our Nuclear New Build business, including engineering design packages. You'll play an important role in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, maintaining project momentum, and helping deliver safe, high-quality solutions for our clients.

At AtkinsRéalis, we recognise that great project delivery is driven by a diversity of perspectives, experiences, and strengths. We value collaborative ways of working and provide an environment where you can grow your skills, contribute meaningfully, and make a positive impact.

Your role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be part of our Nuclear New Build business within the Project Delivery Capability team, contributing to the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.
  • Lead or support multidisciplinary design delivery across AtkinsRéalis projects and embedded client programmes.
  • Define and manage design scope, deliverables, schedules, budgets, responsibilities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Take ownership of delivery at work package level, ensuring alignment with time, cost, quality, and performance targets.
  • Coordinate engineering disciplines, clients, suppliers, and project interfaces to support integrated project delivery.
  • Monitor progress and proactively manage risks, changes, dependencies, technical queries, and corrective actions.
  • Support design reviews, assurance activities, approvals, and configuration control processes to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting to technical and non-technical stakeholders, while contributing to bids, proposals, and mobilisation activities where opportunities arise.

About you

We take a strengths-based approach because we know successful project managers bring a variety of experiences, perspectives, and working styles. You may find many of the following resonate with you:

  • You have experience working within structured engineering design lifecycles and managing design packages, projects, or workstreams.
  • You enjoy coordinating multidisciplinary teams and creating clarity around objectives, responsibilities, and priorities.
  • You understand the importance of requirements management, interfaces, technical assurance, approvals, and configuration control.
  • You are motivated by delivering technically complex work to agreed time, cost, quality, and performance expectations.
  • You take a proactive approach to managing risks, changes, technical queries, and project dependencies.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently with technical specialists, clients, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You take pride in producing accurate plans, forecasts, and performance reporting that support informed decision-making.
  • You enjoy collaborative problem-solving, embrace new ways of working, and bring curiosity, resilience, and a commitment to delivering safe and impactful nuclear projects.
