SEL is looking for a driven, people-oriented Engineering Project Manager to support our Mechanical and Automation Engineering teams in Pullman, WA; Lewiston, ID; Moscow, ID; Nampa, ID; and Post Falls, ID. Our team develops and integrates manufacturing processes, automation systems, and engineering solutions that enable SEL to build products in a safer, more reliable, and more economical way.

As an Engineering Project Manager, your day-to-day is a blend of planning, coordination, problem-solving, and working directly with engineering teams and stakeholders across the organization. You'll partner closely with Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to drive projects from concept through implementation and closeout.

You'll help lead initiatives ranging from process improvements and manufacturing automation deployments to robotics integration, capital equipment installations, and factory optimization efforts. Success in this role requires building strong relationships, aligning cross-functional teams around shared objectives, and removing obstacles that prevent projects from moving forward.

As a trusted partner to engineering leadership, you'll help translate strategic objectives into executable project plans, providing the structure, coordination, and visibility necessary for teams to successfully deliver high-impact solutions. While you won't be responsible for designing automation systems yourself, you'll play a critical role in enabling engineers and technical teams to deliver solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational scalability. Whether coordinating resources, managing schedules and budgets, facilitating project reviews, identifying risks, or communicating with stakeholders, you'll be instrumental in ensuring engineering projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with lasting impact.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with technical teams and helping complex projects succeed. They are organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while supporting engineers, technicians, operations personnel, suppliers, and leadership teams. They have experience managing projects in manufacturing, automation, or industrial environments and can effectively bring together diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating technical projects from initiation through implementation.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications.
  • Working knowledge of Agile project management principles and practices.
  • Clear and effective communication skills —written, verbal, and documentation
  • Quick to learn new skills and open to taking on new responsibilities
  • Works well in team environments
  • Must pass a background check and drug test per SEL requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

We’d love to see someone with a PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or similar project management certification, along with a bachelor's degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field. Experience managing engineering, automation, or product development projects is highly desirable, particularly within manufacturing or industrial environments. Experience using Power BI to develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that support informed business decisions is also highly desirable.
