Project Scheduler - Construction, 40% travel!

Project Scheduler | Commercial Construction | Scott, LA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm, ONSITE, plus 1 required Saturday per month. About 40% travel to local jobsites. Out-of-state travel is limited- to TX, MS or AR.

Compensation & Benefits: 85,000- 95,000 base salary, car allowance, 401K + match, PTO, holidays, travel expenses 100% paid, as well as per diem WHEN travelling

About the Role

A privately owned commercial construction company in Scott, LA is looking for a Project Scheduler to own CPM scheduling across its projects. You’ll build Primavera P6 schedules from scratch, keep them accurate with verified field progress, and work directly with PMs, Superintendents and Project Controls. This is a hands-on role with regular jobsite time, not a desk-only position. You will be working on 3-5 projects concurrently.

What You’ll Do

Develop and maintain integrated, resource-loaded Primavera P6 CPM schedules aligned with contract requirements

Build P6 schedules from scratch

Establish baselines with approved calendars, activity coding, logic, sequencing and constructability

Update schedules weekly or monthly using verified field progress, actual dates, remaining durations and percent complete

Maintain schedule logic, constraints, lags and float

Identify and report critical and near-critical activities

Analyze delays, resequencing and scope changes

Support mitigation and recovery planning, time impact analyses and delay documentation

Prepare schedule narratives, look-ahead schedules, executive reports, and data for forecasting and manpower planning

Incorporate approved change orders and coordinate updates with PMs, Superintendents and Project Controls

Deliver baseline and updated CPM schedules, narratives, look-aheads and impact/recovery schedules as needed

Participate in scheduling review meetings with internal and external stakeholders

Partner with Field PMs, Sr. PMs, Superintendents, Field Engineers, Project Controls and project stakeholders

Participate in required or voluntary education to improve job performance

During non-project periods, support corporate estimating and other project tasks (responsibilities vary with project needs)

Software

Primavera P6 (CPM, resource-loaded scheduling) and Microsoft Project

Must Haves

3+ years of experience developing, updating and maintaining construction project schedules

Strong Primavera P6 skills, including building schedules from scratch

Working knowledge of Microsoft Project

Ability to work with field and project leadership and verify progress on site

Willingness to travel to jobsites (about 40%) and work one Saturday per month

Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder. No sponsorship of any kind will be considered.
