We are currently looking to hire a Protective Security Specialist to join our team embedded with our client in New York!
This full-time position provides executive protection and secure driving services, as required. Regular shifts are four days on, three days off, with 10-12 hour shifts, or as required by the client. This role may require regular overtime and day, evening, and night driving, including occasional weekend and holiday coverage, as necessary.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Protective Security Specialist provides safe, discreet, and professional transportation while delivering unobtrusive, low-profile protective services to ensure the client’s safety and well-being during daily activities, events, and travel. This role is on-site in and around New York City, NY, with occasional travel throughout the United States. This role is responsible for advance planning, route and site assessments, threat identification, and proactive risk-mitigation strategies, as well as maintaining vehicle readiness and servicing requirements. The Protective Security Specialist works closely with the client, guests, security teams, internal partners, and external stakeholders to ensure punctual, secure, and best-in-class transportation and protective support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide a “white-glove” secure driving service as the personal driver for the client and guests
Safeguards Principal and guests from all forms of security and safety hazards, ensuring the safety and security of passengers during transit and activities
Coordinates logistics and plans details relating to the client or guest’s physical location, including movements in, out and around site while preparing for emergencies and other contingencies
Operates vehicle in a safe and comfortable manner
Develops and executes operation plans, route planning, and advance work, preparing routes in advance, including alternate routes
Conducts vehicle checks for cleanliness, functionality, and fuel level
Identifies threats and intervenes along route when appropriate
Works with home office staff and security teams to ensure a coordinated pick-up/drop-off routine
Identifies, tracks, logs, and coordinates vehicle fleet maintenance requirements
Develop and implement internal processes and procedures
Maintain excellent rapport and open lines of communication regarding client needs, requests for support, service issues, and deliverables
Proactively communicate with the client regarding identified delays or other route issues
Understand, conform with, and abide by all Local, State, and Federal laws/regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
Ensure safety of client and guests by remaining vigilant and identifying possible threats or suspicious behavior in real-time and responding appropriately
Conduct advance work and planning, including thorough site surveys, coordination with security teams, venue management, and local authorities as needed
Prepare detailed security and contingency plans, as required
Maintain discreet and professional conduct, blending into the environment and avoiding the escalation of situations unnecessarily
Respond swiftly to medical emergencies, fire alarms, or other crises involving the client
Ensure completion of any client-required plans, surveys, or reports
Assist with customer service issues to ensure a consistently high level of service
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of equivalent or relevant security industry experience
Operational experience driving high-profile executives or high net-worth passengers
Current driver’s license with flawless driving record
Operational experience in similar physical security roles
Operational experience with residential security teams, executive protection details, and/or high-profile corporate security teams
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Emotional intelligence and a customer-focused approach
A successful track record operating within a high-touch, customer service environment
Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions
High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information, excellent judgment, discretion, and diplomacy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Valid New York Guard Card
Red Cross CPR certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
HR 218 LEOSA Qualified
NYC CCW/Armed Guard Card
Experience providing executive protection and secure driving to high-net worth client/family offices
Experience providing protective services to families/young children
Defensive Driving and/or Emergency Vehicle Operator Course Certifications
Executive Protection and/or Tactical training
Advanced medical training (EMT, WEMT, WFR, TCCC/TECC)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The HSA medical plan covers 100% of the premium for employee-only coverage. The PPO medical plan requires an employee contribution for employee-only coverage. For both plans, Concentric covers a substantial portion of the premium for dependents.
