ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Public Affairs Officer (Human Capital Communications Officer) supports the communication needs of Human Development offices. They are expected to write and edit articles using Associated Press style for all products.

Qualifications

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: Experience proofreading, copy editing, providing substantive editorial reviews, and/or applying AP style. Experience preparing and delivering executive-level presentations or briefings and talking points. Experience with analyzing data or customer feedback to recommend solutions that improve products, services, and/or operational performance to maximize customer satisfaction. Experiencing using platforms such as Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, IC Connect, and/or Microsoft Teams. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience developing coordinated communications programs and providing targeted communications products, strategies, activities, tactics, and advice to organizational leadership, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience developing coordinated communications programs and providing targeted communications products, strategies, activities, tactics, and advice to organizational leadership, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: Experience with designing and incorporating digital or web solutions into communication strategies and/or plans using user experience principles. Experience with rapidly understanding and/or integrating new information or concepts to meet evolving operational priorities. Experience with establishing and maintaining relationships across different stakeholders to communicate information on complex or unfamiliar subject matter. Experience measuring the effectiveness of communication campaigns using various metrics and/or adjusting strategies to achieve results.
