Responsibilities:

  • Manage the ordering of materials required to support production, working with suppliers and internal teams to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Raise and maintain purchase orders, ensuring purchasing information is accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate customs activities across imports and exports, ensuring goods move efficiently through the supply chain.
  • Review customs documentation for accuracy and completeness and liaise with freight forwarders and customs contacts as required.
  • Work closely with suppliers and colleagues across Supply Chain, Manufacturing and other functions to support day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain relevant reports, metrics and supply chain KPIs.
  • Support inventory management and identify opportunities to optimise stock levels.
  • Contribute to cost review and cost reduction initiatives across purchased materials.
  • Support the implementation of new purchasing and supply chain policies, procedures and process improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities across the site’s OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management systems.

Qualifications:

  • Experience within purchasing, supply chain, customs, logistics or a related environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and colleagues across different functions.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Experience implementing or supporting new policies, procedures or process improvements.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA QMSR requirements would be an advantage.
  • Experience working with customs data or knowledge of customs legislation is desirable but not essential.
  • A third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.See JD for details.
